Dattebayo is an anime fansub group that publicly releases fansubs of the shows Naruto, Bleach and Tsubasa Chronicle. Usually, releases from Dattebayo are presented to the public less than 24 hours after the airing of the episode in Japan (via TV Tokyo - Wednesdays at 7:27pm JST), and thus has gained massive popularity as proven by the large download counts of their releases. They currently offer Naruto fansubs in English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, and Hebrew.

On a typical week, a Dattebayo Naruto release gets over 200,000 downloads via BitTorrent, making their release the single most downloaded fansub. By comparison, the next most popular fansub, Bleach, typically obtains approximately 150,000 downloads per week. However, the download numbers are spread out over several groups, and suffer inconsistent release times of the show by the groups that produce Bleach fansubs.

The fansub group likes to play jokes on their fans which can be seen on their main page with a link to the GNAA, as indicated by the design credit on Dattebayo's website, and by the group's tendency to "troll" users by releasing fake episodes when the series has taken a week off in Japan (The group releases fake episodes under the name [YHBT]). The [DB] weekly releases, however, are genuine.

Dattebayo's IRC channel is #db at irc.rizon.net (irc://irc.rizon.net/db). Their website is http://yhbt.mine.nu

Trivia

The name Dattebayo comes from a saying that Naruto says frequently in the Japanese release. The English dub has replaced this nonsensical saying with the phrase "Believe it!".
