neutral position

it looks like I love to be a neutral position. It's very comfortable in there.
Almost all the professors at university or also high schools expect students' participation, but whenever there is a discussion, I'm so trying to avoid it. I mean, myself going into discussion. I like to hear discussion, but I can take position 'cause once i settle for one, it's gonna be harder to listen and consider overall discussion.

...can this be an excuse??
